Hello Bristol Uni students, lecturers, alumni, staff and supporters,

I came to Bristol because I like to learn about lots of different stuff. There are some great lecturers at Bristol, and I wanted to take an interest beyond my own subject and see what other departments had to offer.

So, like many others, I snuck into my friends lectures all the time to hear their best lecturers in action. But the university doesn’t really encourage this. And some departments actively don’t allow it.

I’m trying to do something about this lack of access to the best teaching. I’d really appreciate your help.

Tom Corfield (Bristol Student 2004-09)

I‘m trying get the university to support a Best of Bristol lecture series, open to all Bristol students, that will showcase and celebrate the best lecturers at the university.

The idea is to allow students to experience all of the most inspiring teachers from across the university at some point during their time at Bristol.

This idea already has the support of the President of the Students' Union and two Deans. But the university needs to see that it has popular support.

They need to see that the students, lecturers, alumni and supporters of Bristol want this. Please add your name to this petition to give students the education they want and deserve.

Dear Vice Chancellor

I believe that university is about being inspired to understand new and exciting things. I want my experiences to be as broad and vibrant as possible.

Bristol is a great university with some world class teachers. But I don’t feel that Bristol students have access to the full education that they desire.

I would therefore like to state my support for the Best of Bristol Lectures.
